Need to get your technicians, site managers, fish-health officers and regulators to various marine grow-outs in short order?

Norway-based Folla Maritime Service appears to have the right transport in a sleek new design. The company just delivered a high-speed, crew-service vessel that’s part day-cruiser, part water “taxi” to Norwegian fish-farmer, MNH.

The 11-metre FollaSpeed 35, designed by Innovation Navigasjon, does 40 knots with its Volvo-Penta engine. Eight passengers are cared for most by padded seat cushions and specially designed shock absorption.

The vessel itself is built for tough conditions and high speed with lines reminiscent of military-class fast patrol boats.

“We are proud that MNH has chosen us as a supplier in this round,” Folla Maritime Service manager, Runar Brennvolleng, said in a statement.

MNH definitely had the need.

“We are confident that this will be a good contribution to our fleet, especially with regard to shipments of personnel between our locations,” stated MNH’s, Harald Holm, adding that the vessel went straight to work moving crews around.

Folla — which ran a loss in 2016 but has seen increasing sales of late — has another FollaSpeed 35 in production, and it, too, already has a client.
