Marine Harvest’s latest catamaran launches at the Faroe Islands

«Mjølnir» is the first catamaran to be made by Marine Harvest from Mest.

The catamaran, built at the Mest shipyard in Torshavn, Faroe Islands is to operate in Sundalagið, the strait which runs between the of two largest islands in the Faroe Islands – Eysturoy and Streymoy.

This is new building number 114 from the Faroese yard. «Mjølnir» is 15 meters long and seven meters wide. It has been equipped with a 15 tonnes deck winch.

The contract between Marine Harvest and Mest was signed in November last year.

This is the fifth catamaran to be built in the yard in one and a half years. The first four were made for the Faroese salmon farming company, Bakkafrost.
