Marine Products Scotland MD passes away

Angus MacKenzie, managing director of Glasgow-based salmon business Marine Products Scotland (MPS) has died after a short illness.

MacKenzie was 54 when he passed away according to Insider.co.uk

Born and raised on the Isle of Lewis, he founded Marine Products Scotland (MPS) in 2002.Angus MacKenzie then worked across multiple industry sectors before specialising in salmon.

Marine Products Scotland serves the business-to-business market and The Sùlaire Fish Co is its commercial brand.

Mary Bisset, resource planning manager of the business said: “Our deepest sympathies are with Angus’ family; wife Marion, daughters Emma and Rebecca, devoted mum, brother Alasdair, sister Mairi and much loved nieces.

“We are doing all we can to support them at this tragic time.”

She said the business “continued to operate through his illness with an elected management committee and will continue to do so to ensure our business strategy is delivered.

“The ethos and foundations laid by Angus are proving invaluable in allowing the business to continue as he would wish with customer focus, attention to detail and excellence at the forefront delivered by a team of whom he was extremely proud.

“As Angus would have wished, our absolute priority is to continue to run MPS with the same pride and attention to detail that Angus had himself.”
