A storm of applicants at the weekend try to beat the 17th of November deadline
In total, 34 applications for (salmon-farming permits) have come in during the past few days. SalmonBusiness wrote last week that the Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs received four new applications, including Marine Harvest and its Black Cage.
The day after the storm ended with still more permit applications. Among them, Aquantum Leap has teamed up with Dutch Nutreco. They think the concept might be a quantum leap for the aquaculture industry, and they applied Friday (Nov. 17th) for 24 development licenses.
