Wellboat loses power off Sound of Luing in Scotland

Oban lifeboat and another wellboat rescued The Inter Caledonia when it lost power.

According to The Press and Journal, the wellboat had eigth people on board. It sent out a mayday call around 01.00 on Wednesday. The Inter Caledonia was found around a quarter of a mile off the coast in the Sound of Luing, south-west of Oban, and generator was used to restore the power.

The wellboat made it safely to shore in Craobh Haven, Argyll, according to a coastguard spokesman.

The Inter Caledonia entered into a five-year contract with Marine Harvest in april 2016. The wellboat which is 67,8 meter long and 17 meter wide, is owned by Norwegian company Intership.
