Positive test result for virus.

Cooke Aquaculture has posted in a press release that on August 7th, its Cold Ocean Salmon division received a positive test result for Infectious Salmon Anaemia virus (ISAv) at Atlantic salmon site AQ#867. The farm site is stocked with 489,000 fish located near Hermitage, Newfoundland, Canada.

The ISAv detection was identified as a result of the FLR aquatic animal health enhanced surveillance program.

The company said it had taken all the responsible steps under the oversight of the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Fisheries and Land Resources and is following government-approved policies.

In mid-July, the virus was discovered several Cold Ocean Salmon farm sites. That month Cooke harvested 1.1 million salmon early.
