Blaze hit Australis vessel in Southern Chile.
El Magallanico reports that authorities put out a fire on a feed barge operated by Australis at its Córdova 5 salmon farm, Magallanes, Southern Chile.
On Wednesday, authorities were notified of a fire on the vessel at 3 a.m on Tuesday.
While waiting for services to arrive, the twelve crew members kept the fire confined to the generator room and were then evacuated. No injuries have been reported.
The publication reported that the vessel has seven tonnes of salmon feed, as well as 13,000 litres of fuel, of onboard capacity.
Authorities are conducting an investigation at the site.
