Aunan farm, the salmon paradise of former RBK and Liverpool player Vegard Heggem, has been sold.
The farm is located in a secluded location close to Orkla, Central Norway and is Heggem’s childhood home. When he ended his football career, he started building Aunan lodge, where fly fishermen can book a spot.
The property has now been sold for NOK 15.8 million (€1.6 million), Opp wrote. There was also a price quote for the property.
It consists of as many as 16 buildings, and has a 2.7 kilometer long area along a salmon farm by Orkla, Dagblade wrote.
Real estate agent at Eiendomsmegler 1, Lasse Sørlie, told the newspaper about great interest in the property.
“We have had great interest from both home and abroad. It is a unique property in terms of salmon selection. The property is well refurbished and has been well maintained. It is unusual since it has been inhabited since the 14th century,” he told Dagbladet.
Heggem played for Liverpool from 1998-2003, scoring 3 goals in 54 appearances. He was part of Norway’s squads at the 1998 FIFA World Cup and 2000 UEFA European Football Championship, scoring in his debut international appearance.
After his football career, Heggem has put in considerable work related to wild salmon. He has for a number of years been a project manager in the organization Norske Lakseelver.
