Charvest is now doubling its number of vessels and employees says MD
Norwegian shipbuilder Salthammer Båtbyggeri has delivered the “C Provider,” a new hybrid work boat, to Charvest.
This marks the second vessel delivered to Charvest by the shipyard. The contract for the vessel was signed in April last year, and it has been built entirely at the shipyard in Vestnes.
The boat is equipped with the largest possible battery pack for this type of vessel, enabling emission-free operation on the edge of the cage for up to 24 hours.
Kay Søreng, production manager at Salthammer Båtbyggeri, expressed appreciation for the ongoing relationship with Charvest. “It has been a real pleasure to work with the shipping company. They are demanding, know how the boat should be used, and challenge us as a shipyard, which helps to lift us up,” said Søreng.
Ole-André Leine, Managing Director of Charvest, highlighted the expansion of the company’s fleet and workforce. “Charvest AS is now doubling the number of vessels and employees. Over the past five years, we have made significant investments in two new vessels, and the fact that Salthammer builds the vessels in their entirety at Vestnes was important to us when we had to choose a shipyard,” said Leine.
Salthammer Båtbyggeri, one of Norway’s oldest shipyards founded in 1896, continues to secure contracts for new vessels and maintain regular customers in steel constructions, ensuring positive development for the future.
