Infectious salmon anemia (ISA) is suspected at a farm operated by Mowi located in Tennøya in Frøya municipality in Trøndelag county.
The suspicion arose from positive PCR samples taken by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority on July 9 during routine monthly inspections.
This area has a history of ISA cases, including recent detections at a nearby SalMar location and Mowi’s Munksjæra site.
To prevent the spread of infection, restrictions have been imposed on Tennøya, including a ban on moving fish without special permission.
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority may order the site to be emptied if necessary. A restriction zone, consisting of a protection zone and a monitoring zone, has been established in Frøya to manage and monitor the disease situation.
