Netflix is set to premiere its latest Norwegian dramedy, “Billionaire Island,” on September 12, marking a return collaboration with creators Anne Bjørnstad and Eilif Skodvin, known for their work on the hit series “Lilyhammer.”

The series, shot on the island of Frøya in Trøndelag, Norway, offers a humorous take on the country’s thriving fish farming industry.

“Billionaire Island” centers around the ruthless owner of a Norwegian fish farming company, played by Trine Wiggen, who schemes to execute a hostile takeover of her local rival in a bid to become the world’s largest salmon producer. The show explores the colorful characters and high-stakes world of Norway’s salmon billionaires, a sector that has made many Norwegians extremely wealthy.

The series features a star-studded cast, including Trine Wiggen, Svein Roger Karlsen, Ragne Grande, and Kåre Conradi. It is directed by Marit Moum Aune and produced by Rubicon.
