Norwegian Mycelium (NoMy), a company specializing in sustainable mycoprotein production, has announced the appointment of Erik Tveterås as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Tveterås, who joins NoMy from Nutreco, where he led the investment arm NuFrontiers, brings extensive experience in animal protein technology and alternative protein investments.

Tveterås shared his enthusiasm for the new role on LinkedIn, highlighting NoMy’s focus on circular business models to transform food industry byproducts into low-carbon ingredients.

“NoMy’s unique differentiating features, particularly its integration with side streams from the food industry, immediately caught my attention,” he said.

“The need for the feed, food and farming industries to evolve in line with societal expectations is clear. NoMy’s sustainable business model, focusing on scale, cost efficiency, and product quality, offers a solution that complements traditional raw materials while promoting low environmental impact and local supply chain resilience. I am confident that our efforts will play a vital role in achieving sustainability targets within the wider food system.”

NoMy, which collaborates with Skretting on incorporating mushroom proteins into fish feed, sees Tveterås’s appointment as a crucial step in shaping its growth and financing strategy.

Tveterås expressed gratitude to his former colleagues, acknowledging their support over the years.
