A young worker’s first day on the job at a fish farm in Hitra in Norway almost ended in tragedy when he was crushed between a wall and a forklift truck he had been driving.
At 15:56 on Wednesday, Trøndelag police reported a serious workplace incident at the aquaculture site, where a man in his early 20s sustained a severe foot injury.
The accident unfolded during what should have been a routine task. The worker, operating a forklift, lost control of the vehicle as it sped towards a wall. The young man explained that he was unable to brake in time, leading to the decision to leap from the moving truck, police operations manager Anlaug Oseid told local media outlet Hitra-Frøya
