Lerøy Seafood Group reported its third-quarter harvest figures on Monday, totaling 53,900 tonnes head-on gutted (HOG) weight for salmon and trout produced in Norway.
This marks no change from the 53,900 tonnes harvested in the same period last year.
These figures do not include volumes from Lerøy’s partnership with Scottish Sea Farms.
Regional Performance
A comparison of Q3 2024 harvests with last year’s figures reveals both gains and declines across regions:
- Lerøy Aurora (Northern Norway): Harvested 17,600 tonnes in Q3 2024, an increase from 16,500 tonnes in Q3 2023.
- Lerøy Midt (Central Norway): Reported 16,900 tonnes, down from 22,400 tonnes last year, marking the most significant regional decline.
- Lerøy Sjøtroll (Southern Norway): Harvested 16,800 tonnes, up from 14,900 tonnes in Q3 2023. Of this, 6,800 tonnes were trout, slightly down from the 7,100 tonnes of trout harvested last year.
Despite the flat overall harvest volume, these regional fluctuations indicate stronger performance in the northern and southern regions, while the central region, Lerøy Midt, saw a decrease in output.
