Grieg Q3 figures show recovery in Norway from 2023

Grieg Seafood Reports Q3 2024 Harvest Volumes.

Norwegian salmon producer Grieg Seafood has released its third-quarter trading update, reporting a total harvest of 17,700 tonnes gutted weight (GWT), reflecting a significant recovery from the same period last year.

In Q3 2023, the company harvested 12,200 tonnes, meaning this year’s volume represents a 45% year-on-year increase.

Regional Breakdown of Q3 2024 Harvest Volumes:

  • Rogaland: 8,500 tonnes (up from 4,800 tonnes in Q3 2023, a 77% increase)
  • Finnmark: 6,000 tonnes (up from 1,300 tonnes in Q3 2023, a 362% increase)
  • British Columbia: 3,200 tonnes (down from 6,100 tonnes in Q3 2023, a 48% decrease)
  • Newfoundland: 0 tonnes (no change)

This rebound comes after Grieg’s harvest volumes in Q3 2023 had fallen 47% year-on-year, with significant drops in regions like Finnmark, which saw an 84% decline last year. In contrast, Finnmark saw substantial recovery in Q3 2024, harvesting 6,000 tonnes. Rogaland also showed strong growth, while British Columbia’s harvest declined.
