Work begins in November.

Salfjord, a land-based aquaculture company, has secured a significant contract with Tverås Maskin og Transport for the development of its site at Tjeldbergodden. The contract, valued at more than NOK 100 million ($10 million), covers the groundwork for the company’s land-based aquaculture facility, with work set to begin in November.

“This marks a crucial milestone for the project,” said Hans Ramsvik, CEO of Salfjord, in a statement.

The contract includes the development of the entire site, with the first phase set to be ready for construction by 2026. Tverås Maskin og Transport was chosen for its strong reputation and previous experience in the aquaculture sector, including its work for Sinkaberg Hansen on the Svaberget industrial site in Nærøy municipality.

Income from the sale of minerals during the site development will be shared between the companies, with this additional revenue not included in the contract sum.

Norconsult Ålesund, led by Dag Øveraas and Sindre Moldskred, is serving as project manager. The firm has supported Salfjord through project planning and regulatory processes at both Tjeldbergodden and Hyttneset.

In parallel with site preparations, Salfjord is in the midst of a significant capital-raising initiative, aimed at securing several hundred million kroner in investment.

“We are focused on raising capital, and are pleased to have reliable partners in Tverås and Norconsult to ensure the project remains on track,” Ramsvik added.

The full report is expected later this year as the groundwork begins.
