Mads Aarvik, a consultant in strategy and sustainability at PwC’s seafood team in Bergen, has been appointed as the new leader of YoungFish, the networking organization for young professionals in the seafood industry.

Aarvik, who hails from Måløy and grew up in a fishing family, brings a wealth of experience from both national and international seafood sectors. He has worked at PwC for over three years and has previously held roles at companies such as Domstein, New England Seafood, Arctic Linefish, and Deutsche See, providing him with a deep understanding of the seafood industry.

Aarvik was unanimously elected as the new leader during YoungFish’s general assembly on October 14, a testament to the strong support and trust he enjoys among members. He expressed his ambition to help local branches succeed in creating valuable networking opportunities for young people in the industry and to further develop YoungFish as a well-functioning organization with a solid foundation for future growth.

With plans to expand YoungFish’s reach and presence along the Norwegian coast, Aarvik is eager to collaborate with the leadership of the organization’s local branches. He also looks forward to attending events and engaging with members across the country. His hands-on experience in both Norwegian and international seafood industries, coupled with his leadership background, positions him well to guide the organization in its next phase of development.

In addition to his professional experience, Aarvik is passionate about seafood in his personal life, listing langoustines, scallops, persetorsk, monkfish, and turbot as some of his favorites.
