Florida-based producer reports biological improvements in the quarter with stable water quality, temperatures and low mortality.

Atlantic Sapphire, the land-based salmon farming company, announced a total harvest volume of approximately 1,300 tonnes head-on gutted (HOG) in the third quarter of 2024, an increase from the 1,245 tonnes reported in Q2 2024.

The company’s net biomass gain for the period was 1,520 tonnes round live weight (RLW), compared to 1,550 tonnes in the previous quarter. The standing biomass at the end of Q3 2024 was recorded at 2,830 tonnes RLW, slightly down from the 2,930 tonnes in Q2.

The company reported favorable biological developments during the quarter, citing stable water quality, low mortality rates, and an increase in harvest weight.

Atlantic Sapphire achieved an average harvest weight of 1.42 kg HOG in July, 1.55 kg HOG in August, and 2.19 kg HOG in September, following operational measures aimed at increasing the size of harvested fish.

Looking ahead, Atlantic Sapphire has adjusted its biomass to current feeding volumes and expects a further increase in average harvest weight in Q4 2024.
