Former Co-op senior fisheries and aquaculture manager, Katie Keay has joined UK supermarket chain Waitrose as senior aquaculture and fisheries manager.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior Aquaculture and Fisheries Manager at Waitrose & Partners,” Keay wrote on LinkedIn last week.
Her role involves overseeing policies and compliance to ensure alignment with the retailer’s ambitious sustainability goals.
Her appointment at Waitrose follows a career spanning key roles in sustainable seafood. Before joining Coop in 2022, Keay held a senior position at the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), where she managed UK and Ireland fisheries outreach. Earlier, she spent six years at environmental law charity ClientEarth, leading initiatives to promote sustainable seafood practices.
Keay holds a Master’s degree in Conservation from University College London and a Bachelor’s in Zoology from Queen Mary University of London.
