Chapman’s Seafoods acquired by family successor, signals new investment for growth.

Chapman’s Seafoods, a Grimsby-based processor known for its traditional fishcakes and seafood products, has announced a transition in ownership to Simon Chapman, the younger brother of founders Kevin and Paul Chapman.

Simon, alongside his business partner Ryan Masterson, has acquired the entirety of the company’s share capital, marking a strategic move intended to enhance Chapman’s operational growth and build on its established reputation, according to update from the company on Tuesday.

Kevin Chapman, who co-founded the business, will be stepping back from his operational role, concluding a 51-year career in the seafood industry. However, he will continue to provide consulting support during the transition, facilitating the company’s relocation to a new, state-of-the-art kitchen facility.

Reflecting on the company’s growth from its early days at local farmers’ markets to its current distribution network of over 400 independent retailers across the UK, Chapman stated that this transition allows the company to build on its foundations with renewed focus and resources.

Paul Chapman will remain at the helm of production.
