Keohane to expand supply to Irish and European markets.

Keohane Seafoods has secured a new supply agreement with Lidl Ireland worth more than €30 million, the company confirmed Monday. The deal will see the West Cork seafood processor expand its range of fresh, frozen, and ready-to-eat products across Lidl’s 184 stores in Ireland, as well as selected outlets in Germany, France, Switzerland and the Canary Islands.

The agreement builds on a longstanding partnership between the two companies. Keohane Seafoods first signed with Lidl in 2011 and was awarded a €20 million contract in 2022. Founded in 2010 by Michael Keohane and his sons Colman and Brian, the business now employs 285 people across its Bantry and Cork operations.

Under the terms of the new deal, the company will increase its export volumes to European markets while continuing to develop and supply products for Lidl’s domestic shelves.

Managing Director Colman Keohane said the relationship with Lidl has been central to the company’s growth. “Lidl’s continued belief and investment has given us the opportunity to showcase our products locally and internationally,” he said.

Emma Nolan, Senior Buyer at Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland, said Keohane Seafoods’ focus on product innovation and sustainability aligns with the retailer’s priorities.
