“The increase is limited”
Several sources tells SalmonBusiness there will be a slight increase in the salmon prices this week. Last week, the prices were down to around 50 kroner (EUR 5,3) for 3-4 kilo.
SalmonBusiness have collected the following prices:
- 1-2 kilos: NOK 39-40 (EUR 4.1 – 4.2)
- 2-3 kilos: NOK 46-47 (EUR 4.8 – 5)
- 3-4 kilos NOK 55-56 (EUR 5.8 – 5.9)
- 4-5 kilos NOK 56-57 (EUR 5.9 – 6)
- 5-6 kilos: NOK 57-58 (EUR 6 – 6.1)
- 6+ kilos: NOK 56-60 (EUR 5.9 – 6.3)
“The increase is limited. Around 3 NOK (0,3 EUR),” another exporter told SalmonBusiness.
“Processors find this level interesting. Now they want to increase their activity, and therefore the prices are going up,” he continued.
Quiet market
An exporter told about eager salmon farmers, that tried to push the prices higher earlier Friday.
“We haven’t done anything, but someone tried quite high earlier. It has settled down now,” the exporter told.
A salmon farmer confirms this.
Just after 13:30 CEST, little was still done by some exporters.
“We are about to do something now – but the market is very uncertain, as you’ve probably heard from others,” one told SalmonBusiness.
