“Aqua Tromøy” will have the latest fish handling equipment as well reverse osmosis technology.
The vessel is a result of Marine Harvest’s and Deep Sea Supply’s (DESS) investment into aquaculture vessels taking shape. Today, the brand new “Aqua Tromøy” arrived at Myklebust Verft in Gursken, western Norway. Shipping magnate, John Fredriksen, is a major shareholder in both companies.
The wellboat, which is 77 meters long and has a tank capacity of 3,000 cubic meters, was delivered from Artic Shipping.

“Aqua Tromøy” left the Polish, Crist Shipayard with a course to Norway on the 13th September. Due to several circumstances, its arrival has was delayed.
After completion of the final tests, the boat will be handed over at the of September or early October to the joint venture company DESS Aquaculture Shipping (half and half owned by Marine Harvest and Deep Sea Supply). The wellboat will then sail under the Canadian flag and be named “Blue Revolution” according to Trond Erling Andersen from DESS.
