The worker has had their arm partially amputated.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, several emergency units were sent to the Salmones Cailín processing plant at Quellón, Chile, after it was reported that a cleaner was involved in a work-related accident.
According to La Opinión de Chiloé, an emergency call was made when a subcontracted cleaner got one of their arms caught in processing machinery inside the plant.
Health Care personnel and firefighter volunteers were sent to the site where they worked to free the cleaner’s arm. The person has reportedly since had part of their arm amputated in hospital.
Authorities have been informed and an investigation is afoot to determine the exact cause of the incident.
