18.4 tonnes of frozen salmon and mackerel detained.
Either time travel has been invented or somebody has messed up the labels. Either way, Russian authorities were not best pleased on the country’s Lithuania border.
According to a press release from Russian veterinary authority Rosselkhoznadzor, a truck was stopped transporting 18.4 tonnes of frozen mackerel and salmon from entering Lithuania, which was on its way to Pavlodar, located in the north-east of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
When checking the documents, the inspectors discovered a violation of veterinary legislation: that the date of arrival of the goods in Lithuania was actually ahead of the date of its dispatch from Iceland.
The cargo was subsequently sent back.
