Norwegian wellboat builder Aas Mek. Verksted has announced Øyvind Heggdal as its new CEO, according to a press release issued on Friday.
Heggdal, who previously worked with the shipbuilding group Vard, brings extensive experience from the shipbuilding industry and a deep understanding of the market.
“It is with great respect and joy that I take on the leadership role in the family-owned Aas Mek. Verksted. The company holds a unique position in Norwegian shipbuilding and is a leader in constructing wellboats,” Heggdal said in the statement.
The company, headquartered in Vestnesbukta, is a prominent player in the wellboat market. The board expressed satisfaction with Heggdal’s appointment, citing his qualifications and local ties as key assets.
