Agrosuper completes €207 million Friosur acquistion

Chile’s food giant signs off deal.

Agrosuper has closed on its purchase of Chilean salmon company Friosur for EUR 207 million, the company announced on Tuesday.

Yesterday the general manager of Agrosuper, José Guzmán, informed the financial market that the purchase of Piscícola Hornopirén, Salmones Friosur, and Salmones Frioaysén was completed according to Aqua.cl.

Friosur’s assets have been valued at $229 million (€199 million) and consist of 40 concessions.

In the financial document, dated December 4, the transaction includes “the incorporation of workers linked to the operation, a fish farm located in Hornopirén, 40 maritime concessions distributed mainly in the region of Aysén and the respective biomass.”

In June, AquaChile, signed a deal to acquire Salmones Magallanes and Pesquera Eden for $255 million, giving them a foothold in the southern Magallanes region of the country. Then in August, the Chilean food processor, Agrosuper, acquired 100% of shares in AquaChile for $850 million.
