Agrosuper make call $402 million capital increase

World’s second largest salmon farmer announced a call for an extraordinary shareholders meeting to take place on January 14th.

The publication latercera is reporting that the main point of the meeting is to vote for a capital increase of USD 402 million, according to a document signed by the company’s legal manager, Luis Felipe Silva.

The resources will be used to finance the group’s investment plan, the document said.

Last year Agrosuper, one of Chile’s top food producers bought AquaChile for USD 850 million. In turn, AquaChile, one of Chile’s largest salmon producers purchased two smaller Chilean fish farming operations in a USD 255 million deal.

The aquisition sent the company straight to the top of the list of the world’s largest salmon farmers – in front of Cermaq, Lerøy and SalMar, but still behind market leader, Marine Harvest.
