Transaction aims to consolidate Agrosuper’s salmon business, with the transfer of Pesquera Los Fiordos to AquaChile.

Last Thursday at an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting, AquaChile approved a capital increase of USD 248 million, the salmon farmer wrote in a financial update to Chile’s Financial Market Commission.

The transaction aims to consolidate the unification of Agrosuper’s salmon business through corporate restructuring. To do this, Pesquera Los Fiordos will be transferred to AquaChile.

Agrosuper-owned Los Fiordos sells a number of brands that include Super Salmon.

In 2019 agro-giant Agrosuper closed the acquisition of Aquachile USD 850 million. The deal made it the world’s second-largest salmon farmer at the time. It is now fifth place amongst the biggest players.
