Last Friday a storm ripped through a salmon farm that belonged to AquaChile.
The site at Punta Pelú in southern Chile, prompted fears of another escape, the second in same amount of weeks.

However in a statement sent to SalmonBusiness yesterday evening, AquaChile said:
“Sernapesca (National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service, Chile) has inspected the farm three times, where it ruled out the escape of fish and found that the Company has complied with current regulations and activated the necessary action plans.”
It also said that it had “observed and maintained the safety regulations of all the personnel that have participated in this operation.”
