Former Moen-Gruppen CEO Are Brekk will take over as general manager at aquaculture services company Hydro Shipping effective October 1, the company announced on Friday in a press release.

Brekk succeeds Frida Knutshaug Ervik, who is leaving to take a new role at Scanbio.

As well as time at Moen-Gruppen Brekk has also spent more than 20 years as the chairman of family-owned salmon farmer Sinkaberg-Hansen.

Hydro Shipping, specialising in mechanical deworming and manning, currently owns and operates two vessels, the Hydro Pioner and Hydro Patriot. The company reported a turnover of NOK 105 million ($10 million) last year and has a staff of 36.

Based in Rørvik, Brekk will share premises with Smir and Frank Øren, the founder and shareholder of Hydro Shipping, according to the company’s announcement.

StÃ¥le Ramstad, the chairman of Hydro Shipping, praised Ervik’s contributions to the firm. “This is a very good starting point for further building on the strong foundation that Frida has established during her tenure as general manager,” Ramstad said.
