Industry wants work with national food rescue program highlighted.

Ipolitics reports that Cooke Aquaculture, based in Saint John, N.B., was registered by Kathleen Purcell of m5 Public Affairs to engage with the government on the topics of agriculture, economic development, and fisheries.

Specifically, the aquaculture company wants to highlight its application to the Emergency Food Security Fund.

Last April, the Government of Canada announced up to CAD 100 million through the fund to Canadian food banks and other national food rescue organisations to help improve access to food for people experiencing food insecurity in Canada due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Purcell has also registered on behalf of the trade organisation Atlantic Canada Fish Farmers Association (comprised of Mowi, Cooke Aquaculture, EWOS Canada and more) which also wants to raise awareness of the same subject.
