Authorities verify presence of ISA virus at Chilean salmon farm

Sernapesca reports that a diagnostic analysis came back with a positive result of Infectious Salmon Anemia virus (ISAv) at a Granja Marina Tornagaleones (Marine Farm) site, located in the Chiloé area, Los Lagos region, Southern Chile.

The salmon farmer was then notified of the findings.

But as part of the inspection, further testing was performed on a dead fish to search of signs of the disease, and ISA could not be found that the specimen.

Currently Sernapesca is awaiting the results of more samples, it said.
