Benchmark Animal Health launches in Chile

“Chile is an important market for us.”

In a press release on Wednesday, Benchmark aquaculture business writes that Benchmark Animal Health Chile (BAHC) has officially launched.

“The establishment of BAHC follows the launch of Benchmark Genetics in Chile in 2018 and represents a strategic move into the world’s second largest salmon market,” it wrote.

The new company, located in Puerto Varas, will be led by General Manager Javier Moya. BAHC will distribute Benchmark products such as its sea lice treatment in the region, as well as provide technical support to salmon producers.

“The team at Benchmark Animal Health Chile look forward to working with our customers to tackle some of the salmon industry’s major biological challenges. Our mission is to support producers to improve their sustainability and profitability”, said Javier Moya.

Earlier on Wednesday, the company announced that it had sold FishVet to Pharmaq, which is part of the animal health giant Zoetis.

Commercial Director of Benchmark Animal Health in the Americas Hernan Pizarro added that they were pleased announce the launch: “Chile is an important market for us. We will work closely with our colleagues.”
