In a press release on Monday, Billund Aquaculture writes that Steffen Busk Jespersen is to become its Denmark CEO and Bjarne Hald Olsen will take over as COO and Business and Development Manager.

Olsen – an executive with 13 years of experience in the company and a 33-year track record in the global aquaculture industry – said: “To meet the future growth expectations, we need to be even more innovative in our technology and get even more engaged with our customers. I can’t wait to get started in developing the business even further and getting closer to our customers”.

Former Managing Director for the Swedish operations of packaging and insulation group BEWiSynbra Steffen Busk Jespersen said: “I am very happy and excited to get this unique opportunity to represent such an important company, one that has earned a privileged position in the competitive RAS market. I’m excited to be part of this successful team and to contribute to taking the company to the next level”.
Jespersen was the co-owner and CEO of industrial group AH Industries and has had held several leadership positions in a variety of companies in countries such as Denmark, China, USA, Germany and the UK.

Billund Aquaculture Chairman Christian Sørensen added: “This new structure is a very important step towards securing the management team the company needs to meet its future development needs, focusing heavily on structure, technology development and strong control over project implementation”. Christian Sørensen also announced that his position will still be Chairman of Board and he will remain fully involved in daily operations, with a strong emphasis on design, technology development and project implementation.

The company wrote that estimates are showing that by the year 2030, over 600,000 tonnes of different species will be produced using RAS technology.
