Body of missing Grieg Seafood worker found at sea

The bodies of two brothers, one who was a Grieg employee, who were reported missing on Saturday in Norway, have been retrieved.

Brothers Arvid Jøsang (51) and Kurt Jøsang (47) from Bokn in Rogaland, Western Norway, died after their boat lost control during lobster fishing trip on Saturday morning.

Arvid Jøsang, who, according to the the local newspaper, Haugesund, worked for Grieg Seafood Rogaland, was picked up lifeless from the water on Saturday morning. He later died at Haukeland University Hospital. His brother Kurt Jøsang, who was first reported missing, was found dead Monday afternoon, according to the publication.

Tom-Inge Aksdal, who was a colleague of Arvid Jøsang in Grieg, said that deceased as his main mentor.

“I started working with him when I was 12 years old. It is he who has taught me everything I know today, I can’t thank him enough,” he said to the newspaper.

There were rough sea and strong wind conditions when the accident occurred.

“It’s a terrible sad day for Bokn. Everyone here is affected by such an accident. Both are from here. They are family leaders. The whole community is in pain now,” said Bokn town Mayor, Tormod Våga to NRK.
