Sernapesca, the Chilean fishing and aquaculture regulator, has taken legal action against Pesquera Camanchaca, according to Undercurrent News.
The reason is the company’s failure to remove salmon from the wrecked wellboat, ‘Seikongen’, which capsized last Wednesday.

In a press release, Serpasca wrote that the company did not act promptly enough to remove the dead fish. Camanchaca failed to remove it within the 48-hours window they were given by the regulator.
Sernapesca is now considering a possible criminal complaint if damages is caused to the environment.
