Carrefour recalls smoked trout and salmon

Listeria recall over products from Les Fumoirs de Saintonge.

Carrefour, one of the largest hypermarket chains in the world, is urgently recalling 250g packs of smoked trout as well as 150g packs of smoked salmon with l’Île-de-Ré sea salt, the supermarket posted in a consumer alert.

The salmon smoker, which is based in Saujon, in the Charente-Maritime department in southwestern France, made the recall after an inspection found evidence of Listeria monocytogenes in some of its products.

Initially, it recalled just its organic smoked trout products in mid-July, but now the recall is being expanded to salmon.
