Cermaq Chile has launched “Aimon,” what it calls a new ultra-premium salmon product, as part of its strategic effort to target high-end markets.

The brand was unveiled in São Paulo, Brazil, a key market for the company, where demand for premium salmon is driven by the country’s large population of Japanese heritage.

Aimon is the result of a three-year development process, during which Cermaq Chile focused on refining its production protocols, according to a press release from the company.

The company implemented advanced technology and stress-free methods in salmon farming, harvesting, and processing to enhance product quality. This approach is aimed at meeting the growing demand for sustainable, high-quality salmon in the Brazilian market.

“The introduction of Aimon represents a significant milestone for Cermaq Chile,” said Joachim Wessel, General Manager of Cermaq Chile. “We’ve worked to improve every stage of the value chain, focusing on animal welfare and extending product shelf life to meet the needs of discerning chefs.”

Brazil is a priority market for Cermaq Chile, with São Paulo’s Japanese restaurants accounting for a significant portion of salmon consumption. Matías Cirano, Marketing and Value-Added Manager, emphasized that Aimon’s launch is aligned with growing demand for premium salmon. The company also plans to expand the brand to other international markets following its debut in Brazil.
