Three employees at Cermaq have been quarantined on house vessel in Hammerfest, Northern Norway.

Cermaq’s communications manager Astrid Aam confirmed the news to SalmonBusiness.

“One of them has been tested and we are waiting for the test results. They are in good spirits,” Aam wrote in a text message to SalmonBusiness on Monday night.

Employees have been on the vessel since the shift started last week, according to Aam.

Talking to iFinnmark who has also discussed the matter, local politician Marianne Sivertsen Næss said:

“They are at work now and are doing well. But we have to wait and see how it goes,” said Næss.

On Saturday ten employees from salmon farmer Kvarøy Fiskeoppdrett were quarantined after a business trip to Italy.

The response to these coronavirus samples is expected within a few days. The company did not want to comment on the case against SalmonBusiness.
