President Sebastián Piñera announces emergency measures.
Chile’s national borders have closed, Piñera announced in a press announcement. Though Piñera said that for now it will not affect the entry and exit of cargo or carriers.
“It has been decided to close all land, maritime borders and areas of our country for the transit of foreign people. This will not affect the entry and exit of cargo or carriers, to continue to ensure a normal supply of our country.
This measure will be governed from Wednesday, March 18 Chilean nationals and permanent residents in Chile who come from high-risk places, will be able to enter our country by subjected to health customs and a mandatory 14-day quarantine”.
