Chilean salmon industry increased its returns by 28.1% from January to September 2017 compared to same period in 2016, going from USD2,624 Mn to USD3,362 Mn.
However, exported volumes fell 4 % from 373,063 tonnes to 357,967 tonnes, according to Aqua.
The reason for the positive figures in returns is of course due to the high salmon prices since mid-2016.
Cermaq again is the market leader, reaching USD375 Mn, or 11,2 % of the total value.
USA is the main export country, receiving 36 % of the salmon from Chile.
