BluGlacier, a US joint venture established in 2016 by Chilean salmon producers Blumar and Ventisqueros, has hired Kathy Liz as its new marketing director, the company has announced.

Liz previously worked as the marketing manager for Regal Springs Tilapia and the US marketing manager at AquaChile until late 2020.

In her new role, Liz will be responsible for building BluGlacier’s presence in North America, working on the marketing and branding of its salmon products across the region.

“I’m thrilled to join BluGlacier at such a significant inflection point for the company as it embarks on unprecedented growth and new channel launches,” Liz said following her appointment.

“She brings with her a wide range of competences within product and concept development, market dynamics and research, which will enormously benefit BluGlacier as well as our customers,” BluGlacier CEO Sebastian Goycoolea said, welcoming Liz to the role.

BluGlacier sources its salmon from Patagonia, raising the fish in the cold-water fjords of the region and operating out of Miami, Florida, US. The fish is transported in the hold of passenger flights in an effort to cut the company’s carbon footprint, while maintaining freshness.
