Chilean authorities recall “Von Fach” smoked salmon

Virus found in six lots to date.

Chile’s health authority has requested a call out to the country’s supermarkets to withdraw “Von Fach” branded smoked salmon from its shelves, reports RadioBioBio.

This is due to a risk of listeria, which was found in six lots to date.

Aquiles Von Fach, owner of the brand, told CNN Chile he has not been notified of the presence of the bacteria in his products. The salmon is produced in the Araucanía Region in Central Chile.

“I hope you notify us as soon as possible, I understand that it will be Monday, to be able to present our discharges. And that I estimate at this point will not help much considering the great damage they have done to our company and the prestige of our brand with more than 20 years in the national market, ” said Von Fach.
