Salmon farmer Granja Marina Tornagaleones (Marine Farm) reported escape to Sernapesca.
Fishing and aquaculture authority Sernapesca has notified the public that it received a notification for a yet undisclosed number of escaped salmon.
The fish belong to the salmon farmer Marine Farm – which is also called Granja Marina Tornagaleones.
The company said it immediately contacted authorities when fish were found outside of a net pen at one of its site in Cisnes, in the Aysén region of Chile.
Marine Farm was in the process of harvesting the fish at the site which weigh 5 kilos.
Sernapesca inspectors said that it is currently inspecting and verifying that the farm activated measures for a contingency and recapture plan.
