Chilean salmon exports to Brasil have increased by 78 percent since 2012, reports Mundo AcuĂcola.
The value of those exports increased by 86 percent over the same period a year ago to USD 524 million. Last year, export to Brasil decreased by 14 percent in volume (year 2016 versus 2015) due to sector-wide problems related to a  harmfull algae bloom, although the value of those exported volumes showed an increase of 9 percent.
Brasil is the third-largest export destination for fresh and frozen Chilean salmon, after the United States and Japan.
