Norwegian boatbuilder Salthammer Båtbyggeri has announced that it has been selected by service provider Yatek to develop an 18.5-meter-long service vessel tailored for the aquaculture industry.
This investment is part of Yatek’s green initiative to support heavier service assignments along the coast.
“After close dialogue with Yatek in recent months, we are very pleased that they chose to proceed with the solution we have developed together and look forward to the collaboration,” said Lasse Stokkeland, General Manager of Salthammer Båtbyggeri.
Based in Lervik, Sogn, Yatek provides service assignments for aquaculture and other industries. The new vessel will feature hybrid capabilities and be equipped with a 1600 Kwh battery pack, designed for 24-hour operations.
“Effective and environmentally friendly solutions that are cost-effective for breeders are our focus at Yatek,” said Ansgar Østebøvik, Day-to-Day Manager at Yatek.
