Invermar being investigated.

Earlier in the month, it was reported that 26 Invermar workers fell sick and had to be transferred to different care facilities in the Los Lagos region, Southern Chile.

The workers affected had symptoms such as headache, dizziness and vomiting and had to be sent to emergency services with differing degrees of seriousness.

El Ciudadano reports that authorities are now awaiting laboratory analysis results of food samples taken from the facility on suspicion of a foodborne illness. The workers were all tested for COVID-19, but that has now ruled out as the tests came back negative.

Invermar told the publication that “there is no conclusive evidence as to what might have been the cause of the workers’ unrest was attributable to our facility”.
