Dawnfresh posts £2.3 million operating loss

Price pressure catches up with trout farmer.

Trout farmer Dawnfresh posted its yearly results ended 29th March 2020 on Companies House.

Operating losses increased to GBP 2.3 million from GBP 1.8 million the year before. This was as a result of price pressure in the global salmonoid market, offset in part by a 13 per-cent volume increase.

Turnover increased to GBP 16.5 million, up from GBP 15.8 million in 2019.

Dawnfresh wrote that it continued it focused on large Scottish trout during the period. Input volumes at its juvenile sites are increasing to facilitate a further 20 per-cent increase this year.
