Solstad Farstad’s and Marine Harvest’s joint venture, DESS Aquaculture Shipping, has taken delivery of “Aqua Merdø”, a 59.2m state of the art harvest vessel.
With a 20,000 fish per hour handling capacity and up to 400 tons of fish transporting capability to processing plants, the “Aqua Merdø” is to commence a 10-year charter contract with Marine Harvest upon its imminent delivery.
The vessel was developed in close collaboration between DESS and Salt Ship Design and was built by Norwegian shipyard, Myklebust Verft.
Long-term financing was arranged by ABN AMRO Bank N.V.
